Updated Review: Gave this place another try and really enjoyed our iced matcha hazel drinks! The rice meal serving was the same for our chosen breakfast. The vibe felt better with everything working and without having to sweat it all out while waiting for our food. The place place is packed since it's relatively small so be considerate with other customers such as table sharing, people passing through, or simply leaving after meal to make space for others. I know they're busy but staff giving a smile to their guests would be a plus! I'm not really a bread person but I'll give theirs a try next visit! All in all our recent visit was satisfying! Original Review on November 2024: Discovered this place randomly on g-maps while walking from 711. My partner was craving for coffee & bread but we both decided to have rice instead. Unfortunately, there was an electrical maintenance on their street so we only had limited choices, and it was extremely hot!!! P80 for hot tea is expensive but okay, because it might have been costed with several factors. Servings were small compared to its price. The garlic longganisa was kind of bland and the white vinegar didn't help (i would recommend sukang iloco/pinakurat). Would like to give it another try next time and hopefully be able to edit this review.

The ambience is one of the things people look at when looking for a place to dine. Karruba absolutely nailed it. Its rustic vibe blends in with the beach tourism. Although this place was a bit off road, it's still walkable though, and being a little uphill makes it more touristy. The coffee and breads were absolutely tasty! We had the egg tart and strawberry donuts. We also had matcha and vanilla latte which were both satisfyingly good! The mommy / auntie cashier was very friendly and hospitable. Feel free to laugh out loud with your friends here. It's not the typical prim and proper Starbucks place where you need to be stiff and classy. The Al fresco setup hits home.

Ordered their Spanish latte and some pastries to-go so we could eat them at the beach. We liked everything we ordered! The cheese rolls looked irresistible and were as delicious as they looked. Same with the mango berry bun. Can’t wait to go back and try their other pastries.

Came here for brunch around 12 on a Thursday. There were a few tables and counter tops open, all of which are self-seating to first come. You order at the counter and pick-up when your order is ready. We ordered Beef Tapas, French Toast, Matcha with Oatmilk, and a normal Matcha. We also ordered Butter Croissants and a Cinnamon Roll for take-away. Our Matchas did not taste right when we first took our sips, but they came to us and said they forgot to add flavored syrup. We got our Matchas back and they tasted better. Our food was good. The French Toast with the glazed banana was tasty and not too sweet which I like. Same for the Cinnamon Roll, it was not too sweet. Everything is self-service if you want condiments and water. The place had a natural and cozy feel to it. There is minimal parking; two parking spots on-site, and then street parking. I would come back if I was in the area and wanted a change in my routine.

Karruba Cafe and Bakery has truly become my comfort spot in Elyu. Their Kare-Kare Bagnet is the best I’ve had! I loved it so much that I keep coming back just to order it again. I also tried their sinigang, but nothing beats the crunch and flavor of the bagnet in the Kare-Kare. Aside from the meals, I got to try their pastries like the croissant, along with their drinks, and everything was satisfying. Even when we visited during a typhoon with heavy rain, the place still felt cozy and chill, making it the perfect spot to stay in. Definitely a go-to place I’ll always come back to.

Food: definite must-try! From main dishes, to drinks, to pastries - have it! Place: it's al-fresco, so it was kind of humid, but still okay. Staff: they are nice and accommodating.

As a person who loves cheese rolls, their cheese roll is a lovely treat for me. I love it so much. Their coffee is good too and the ambiance is very homey. The place was always packed with people dining in. The ube spanish bread is good too. I will definitely go back here.
